March 24 - April 7, 2021

I am happy to announce that the Arc of Appalachia/Artist-in Sanctuary Residency that was postponed due to Covid-19 has been rescheduled!

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS – Plein Air painters – Michelle Boerio, Michele BonDurant, Jean Koeller, & Micheal Ousley; Ecopoet – Susann Moeller

Five nationally recognized Ohio artists will participate in the Highlands Nature Sanctuary sixth annual Artists-in-Sanctuary program. Visit with these artists as they interpret the scenery from many locations along the Sanctuary’s trails, whether it is a cedar laden field at the Kamelands, a rocky gorge along the Etawah Trail, or goldenrod blooming on Ridgeview’s rolling hills. A final gallery exhibition and festival at the Appalachian Forest Museum will showcase the works created throughout the residency. During the weekends, stop by the museum to find out where these artists will be working, so you can visit with them and watch as they interpret nature from their unique artistic perspectives.

                       September 12 through October 30, 2020

I am pleased to be part of the Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale, California, 48th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper. All artworks will be included in an online gallery and a printed exhibition catalog. This year the was juror Dan McCleary, a Los Angeles-based figurative artist who has exhibited throughout the United States and abroad for the past 30 years. His works are included in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York among many others. In addition to his own practice, he has taught painting and drawing at UCLA and USC and in 2012 was an artist-in-residence at the Getty Center. In 2010, McCleary founded Art Division, a non-profit dedicated to training and supporting under-served youth who are committed to studying the visual arts.

Matter and Pattern

I'm very excited to be part of this exhibition. Presenting the work of three artists—Sonya Berg Menges, Michele BonDurant, and Britny Wainwright—who create colorful and rhythmic assemblages using such materials as found photographs, tape, ceramic, and vinyl to explore the boundaries of pattern and surface.
